Accuvein® - Safety, efficiency and less pain with procedures

To enhance safety, efficiency, pain and reduce bruising we now have the vein visualizing technology called Accuvein®.

Each person's anatomy varies and Accuvein® enables us to identify accurately where the veins are so that we can avoid problems. This technology helps us with all procedures involving needles - Dysport®, Dermal fillers, taking blood, placing intravenous drips and for Vampire® procedures.

Accuvein® improves safety by reducing the risk of placing dermal filler into blood vessels and also reduces bruising so that most go straight back to work.

However, should there be a bruise, we use our painless and gentle laser to reduce it.

The Importance of Pre-Treatment Preparation

The foundation of an effective skin treatment, with the best possible results, is preparation.

Your two major goals in doing this is to prepare the stratum corneum (top layers of the skin), and to prevent post - inflammatory pigmentation (over or under pigmentation). This applies even more, if the skin is slightly olive or tanned, especially if you are preparing for Limelight (Intense Pulsed Light).

However, the basic principles still apply with other treatments, because preparation enables a betters result.

Treatments to get the best results

The skin is prepared for at least two weeks with topical precondition skincare which will include:

• A retinoid eg: Retinoid, Exfol A, Retrieve
• Tyrosine's inhibitor - stops the skin making pigment
• Vitamin C Serum

By exfoliation the skin and reducing pigmentation, the outcome of any skin treatment will be enhanced. It will also allow the skin to heal more quickly.

Vampire Facelift® Procedure

This procedure addresses the 3 signs of the ageing face:

1. Grey skin colour due to reduced blood flow
2. Facial sagging related to loss of fat, muscle and collagen
3. Roughening skin texture with increase in fine lines and pores as well as poor hydration.

Some clients may do better with other procedures or surgery. This procedure helps to restore facial shape, improves skin tone, hydration and texture as well as rejuvenating the skin and stimulating the growth of younger tissue.

There are 3 specific steps in this procedure:-

1. Hyaluronic acid dermal filler is injected in a specific way to sculpt a more youthful but natural appearing face. To be able to do this, Dr Pitsilis takes into account the specific mathematics of beauty.
2. Two teaspoons of your blood is drawn and specifically prepared to extract and activate the platelets which extrude multiple growth factors when injected into your tissues. This stimulates increased collagen, fatty tissues and blood flow to create younger appearing skin.
3. Using numbing cream and a very small needle and a specific microneedling technique, your own growth factors are injected back into your face in a particular way. These growth factors then activate your multipotent stem cells within your skin to stimulate younger looking tissues.

The effects of this procedure improve over 2-3 months and may last up to 1-2 years.
